Oven Roasted Dry Rub Ribs

  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp ground mustard
  • 2 tbsp garlic granules
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1-2 tsp kosher salt
  • Ribs
  • 3 lb-6 1lb pork ribs
  • Equipment & Utensils
  • Small whisk or fork
  • Large baking tray
  • Aluminum foil


  1. Combine rub ingredients and mix together thoroughly with a whisk or fork and set aside.
  2. Cover baking tray with aluminum foil and set aside.
  3. Turn your ribs bone side up, and with a paper towel lift membrane and peel away. You may have to use a knife at first. Remove as much as you can.
  4. Rinse ribs with cool water and then pat dry with paper towels.
  5. Scatter rub mixture over both sides of ribs. Use a spoon to create a thin layer and allow excess to fall off when turning.
  6. Save any excess rub for another dish.
  7. Place ribs on baking tray and allow to sit for 10 minutes to allow the ribs to raise to room temperature.
  8. Place ribs in preheated oven at 275 and allow to cook until meat can be pulled away from the bone (approx. 3-5 hours dependent upon weight).
  9. Serve when ready.
