Oven Roasted Dry Rub Ribs

Ingredients

Rub

  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp ground mustard
  • 2 tbsp garlic granules
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1-2 tsp kosher salt

Ribs

  • 3 lb-6 1lb pork ribs

Equipment & Utensils

  • Small whisk or fork
  • Large baking tray
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  • Combine rub ingredients and mix together thoroughly with a whisk or fork and set aside.
  • Cover baking tray with aluminum foil and set aside.
  • Turn your ribs bone side up, and with a paper towel lift membrane and peel away. You may have to use a knife at first. Remove as much as you can.
  • Rinse ribs with cool water and then pat dry with paper towels.
  • Scatter rub mixture over both sides of ribs. Use a spoon to create a thin layer and allow excess to fall off when turning.
  • Save any excess rub for another dish.
  • Place ribs on baking tray and allow to sit for 10 minutes to allow the ribs to raise to room temperature.
  • Place ribs in preheated oven at 275 and allow to cook until meat can be pulled away from the bone (approx. 3-5 hours dependent upon weight).
  • Serve when ready.
