Watermelon Goat Cheese Canapes

Ingredients

  • 2 x 1 inch slice watermelon cut from the largest area, the centre, of the melon
  • Balsamic vinegar at least 1.32 density
  • 1 cup goats cheese crumbled
  • 4-6 fresh basil leaves - approx. 1/3 cup cut into ribbons

Equipment & Utensils

  • 1/4 tsp measuring spoon
  • Serving plate
  • Clean-up tools: paper towel toothpick & cotton swabs

Instructions

  • Cut melon into approx. 1 inch cubes.
  • Using a 1/4 tsp measuring spoon, scoop out a small amount of watermelon from each cube to create a divot for the balsamic vinegar.
  • Place watermelon cubes on serving plate.
  • Carefully fill divots with balsamic vinegar.
  • Place a few crumbles of goats cheese on top and top with a ribbon of basil.
  • If needed, use a paper towel to mop up any spills, a toothpick to pick up excess goats cheese, and cotton swabs to clean off marks from the serving plate left behind by spills.
